ELTA

 What is ELTA?

ELTA is a unique program designed for everyday use in design and maintenance of induction heating processes and equipment. ELTA provides a very fast and accurate simulation of electromagnetic and thermal problems of induction heating using a one dimensional approach. It can simulate almost any induction system: cylindrical or plane, magnetic or non-magnetic, solid or hollow, even double-layered with arbitrary properties of materials. You can simulate and design induction systems for mass heating before forging, rolling or extrusion, processes of surface induction hardening and tempering with a multi-stage treatment cycle, indirect induction heating of non-conductive materials in bonding and coating curing and many others.

New version of program (ELTA 6.0) can simulate two-dimensional distribution of power sources and temperature in rectangular (square) cross-section of workpieces and more accurate temperature parameters than the previous version.

ELTA is easy to use!

ELTA provides a level of the interface convenience never existed before. You don't have to learn difficult modeling terminology or methods, you just enter the size of the load, select a material and enter the processing parameters. ELTA does the rest, simulating the process and providing graphical or numerical output of all load and coil characteristics. All users, from new comers to experts can benefit from such accessories as data banks of properties of refractories, materials to be heated and quenching media as well as visual display of information about the process, and a report automatically created according to installed or user designed templates.

What Results Can ELTA Provide?

After calculations up to 20 graphic windows can be displayed automatically according to the report template used. ELTA can show you the coil voltage, current and power, and workpiece characteristics such as the temperature distribution in time and through the load thickness. ELTA can show you load power, current and magnetic field density, electrical and thermal losses and more.

Efficiency and energy consumption are of a special interest for mass heating. Cooling rates during quenching are important for hardening. ELTA can provide information about any induction processing question you have. Select a template, observe and print the results!

ELTA is Adaptive and Easily Manageable

Though the default setups provide a good selection of options, the user can control and change every step and feature of the program performance.

Do you prefer metric or British system of units? Both may be installed easily. Do you need an especially high precision of calculation for your particular case? Normal, High and Custom Precision modes are available.

You can control the calculation process and edit the appearance of the result presentation on the screen and in the report. ELTA can provide temperature information in just about any format you could ask for: temperature curves for any depth graphed against time, temperature at any time graphed against depth, a 2D color map and a 3D time v temperature profile are available.

Processing Conditions

ELTA can simulate complex processes which include several stages of heating, holding, quenching and cooling with different media. During each heating stage the coil may be energized in four different manners: coil current, coil voltage, coil power and power density on the load surface may be applied at any frequency.

Quenching/cooling methods include "natural" cooling by radiation and convection, immersion in oil or water, and spraying with oil, water or polymer solution showers of different intensities.
